Improve your connection: The best Wi-Fi dongles of 2025

Globetrotting to hot travel destinations with your mobile phone is now easier and cheaper than ever, thanks to the :a[Holafly eSIM]{href='https://bit.ly/WTB–Holafly–HolaflyeSIM' }. We love a deal, not to mention one that can take the cost and stress out of going abroad with your mobile. These days, staying connected no matter where your next adventure takes you is really a travel essential. But what about excessive roaming charges and the high price of data with your current mobile provider?

We've all been there – you're lost in the winding streets of a Greek coastal town, or abroad on a work trip and need that crucial document, or simply need your socials to keep in touch with friends and family. That's exactly the moment when you realise your data has hit its limit and you're in for extra charges. But now, thanks to Holafly, you can leave all of that hassle behind you.

Once you've signed up to Holafly and installed the eSIM, you get unlimited data without any roaming charges. Yes, you read that right – there are no hidden fees or catches in the small print. We think that this is a serious money-saver for anyone who needs to take their digital world with them wherever they go. Instagram live from the golden sands of Spain, or navigate the winding coastal towns of Morocco without giving your mobile data a second thought.

If you're new to the idea of an eSIM, it's an incredibly simple way to add a virtual SIM card to your device, so there's no fiddling around with card slots or worrying about losing your actual SIM. Whether it's a hiking trip in Peru, or the bustling streets of New York – if you find yourself a little off the beaten track, you have peace of mind knowing that Holafly has you covered with a truly international eSIM.

Chilling out in the Italian Alps with a view that's hard to tear your eyes from, or wild camping in one of Finland's national parks? But if you do need to open that laptop, tablet or smartphone Holafly has your back.

We're genuinely amazed by this: The Holafly eSIM works in over 200 destinations, including an option of a global eSIM with coverage in over 110 countries. You can also buy a plan for an entire region, such as (deep breath) Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, North America, Oceania, China and Hong Kong and Macau, Eastern Europe, and the Balkans. As with all mobile service providers, we do recommend that you check that your destination is covered before you buy.

Delivered to you electronically via email, or WhatsApp if you prefer, it's simple to install and activates instantly. You can track your eSIM usage and manage your plan (or buy more) using the user-friendly Holafly app, too. Again, as this is a virtual SIM, you keep your regular SIM card in place – which means your WhatsApp number stays the same, even while you're using the Holafly eSIM for your internet connection.

Also, check that your phone or laptop is compatible. The Holafly website provides simple ways to check for :a[laptop]{href='https://bit.ly/WTB–Holafly–laptop' target='_blank' rel='noreferrer noopener'} or :a[smartphone eSIM compatibility]{href='https://bit.ly/WTB–Holafly–smartphoneeSIMcompatibility' target='_blank' rel='noreferrer noopener'}.

Peace of mind is everything, especially if you rely on your mobile internet connection for maps, work or keeping in touch with your family and friends. There's nothing better than knowing that your mobile phone and internet costs are all prepaid when you set off on your travels. You get the added flexibility of adding more days to your plan as you need them, thanks to the Holafly app. With its eSIM installed, you'll board that plane, train or ferry (and wave goodbye to running out of data just when you need it the most). As our best eSIM for travel, you'll be roaming around the world in more ways than one.

We're always happy to recommend products that have thousands of satisfied customers, which is why the :a[Holafly Trustpilot rating]{href='https://www.trustpilot.com/review/holafly.com' } of 4.5 and eSIM sales that top 10 million are a ringing endorsement of how simple and reliable its eSIMs are. Throw in that Holafly discount code for new and existing customers, and you have a top data package to go with that package holiday or wilderness adventure.

So, fancy that trip to Turkey, Asia, the USA or your dream holiday destination? Our advice: grab that 5% discount while you can. Use our code **BAUERHOLA5** at checkout. For us, it's a no-brainer – it's hola :a[Holafly]{href='https://bit.ly/WTB–Holafly–HolaflyeSIM' }, adios roaming fees and data limits.

Despite going on holiday to get away from things like work and stress, we can't survive without our creature comforts. Whether it's music, books, or just making sure you can post holiday photos on socials, it's important to have the right tech to help you on your journeys. We're here today to break down the best holiday tech as we head into summer.

Research suggests that :a[over a quarter of the population take a laptop on holiday]{href='https://www.staysure.co.uk/discover/gadgets-on-holiday/' target='_blank' rel='noreferrer noopener'}, with the tech side of travel insurance growing. It's clear that many like to have their gadgets with them even on a break. Book-laden luggage is a thing of the past for several holidaymakers, with money saved on a luggage allowance thanks to :a[e-readers]{href='https://www.whatsthebest.co.uk/tech/electronics/best-e-readers/' }. Meanwhile, advancements in :a[noise-cancelling headphones]{href='https://www.whatsthebest.co.uk/tech/audio/best-wireless-noise-cancelling-headphones/' } have saved travellers the headaches of a noisy flight. There are many little things that help make the process of getting to your destination, and your time on holiday, just a little bit better.

No matter where you end up these tech picks will help you get there, and relax without a care in the world. We've rounded up a selection of travel tech essentials, many tried and tested, for your next trip.

To make sure you're never caught without a travel adapter, this :a[Worldwide Travel Plug]{href='https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BHHZPJCX' target='_blank' rel='noreferrer noopener nofollow'} is equipped for use in over 150 countries, as well as coming with two USB-A ports for smart devices.

With plugs come cables. A :a[4-in-1 Cable]{href='https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B098LF7R28' target='_blank' rel='noreferrer noopener nofollow'} allows you to charge with multiple different connections. No more need for a rat nest of wires in the bottom of your bag, or being at a loose end if you've packed the wrong one.

We all know how much airplane headphones suck, they're uncomfortable, the sound is terrible, and you'll normally be charged for the luxury of listening through them. Save the worry with an :a[Airplane Bluetooth Transmitter]{href='https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CJY56XG3/' target='_blank' rel='noreferrer noopener nofollow'}. With 28 hours of battery, even the longest of journeys will pass quickly.

Finally, as the holiday comes to a close you might find that all the bits and bobs you've picked up risk tipping your luggage weight into the red. A :a[Travel Sized Luggage Scale]{href='https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IDJM8OA/?tag=qwtbarticle1804-21' } can help keep you on top of this, and avoid the pricey surprises on the flight home.

Now you should have everything you need to enjoy your holiday, and if it isn't on this list, it probably isn't worth worrying about. So relax! You've earned it.

Transform your home speaker setup and experience your favourite music the way it was meant to be heard with the best Bluetooth speakers for bass of the year.

We're here to stop you from getting dissuaded. Whether you're opting for a :a[budget Bluetooth speaker]{href='https://www.whatsthebest.co.uk/tech/audio/best-budget-bluetooth-speakers/' }, or something a little more high-octane, there's a great option for every shopper.

Every brand in the market claims to have superior sound, fantastic quality and the best value for money. However, we've been around the block and encountered speakers that soar above our expectations (and others that come up short). Let's take a look at those worthy of your consideration and cash.

## The best Bluetooth speakers for bass in 2025:

_All prices are correct at the time of writing. Prices, stock and deals are subject to change without notice._

## How to choose the best speaker for you {#h-faqs}

When choosing a great Bluetooth speaker for bass, it's essential to understand the key features that matter most. Here's a breakdown of essential terms to guide you:

**•** **Bluetooth:** Bluetooth is a connection technology that allows users to connect wirelessly to speakers and other devices. The latest version of Bluetooth is version 5.3, but we're yet to see many speakers with Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. Many speakers on our list have Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, which gives listeners a connectivity range of up to 240 metres in an open space, or 40-50 metres in your home, factoring in objects, furniture and walls.

**•** **Enclosure:** The enclosure of the speaker refers to the outer shell of the speaker, it houses the components and keeps everything safe from harm.

**•** **Driver:** Drivers are the part of the speaker that converts electrical signals into sound: tweeters and woofers are the main drivers in a speaker.

**•** **Radiator:** Radiators are non-powered components that massively enhance bass response in speakers by using air pressure, and are typically found on smaller speakers, where a spacious enclosure isn't available.

**•** **Grille:** More than just an aesthetic component, the grille is the often metallic cover of the speaker, which allows for sound to transfer without altering audio. The grille also helps to protect the components with its sturdy exterior.

**•** **Audio output power (peak):** Audio output power is a measurement of the maximum power output of a speaker, indicating the upper-most limits of volume and bass a speaker can handle.

**•** **Audio output power (RMS):** Root Mean Square (RMS) is a measure of the maximum continuous audio output power a speaker has, giving you a better idea as to how the speaker performs.

**•** **Waterproofing:** A self-explanatory concept with a rather bizarre measurement, waterproofing indicates how well a speaker can resist water damage. This is typically indicated using an IP rating, which shows a speaker's protection against both dust and water. The two digits of an IP rating shows dust and water resistance (in that order) from a scale of one to nine, nine being the highest. A speaker with an IP56 rating, for example, will have a high protection against dust, and can stand up to one minute of complete submersion in a metre of water.

### How can I tell if a speaker will have good bass?

There are a few factors to look for when evaluating a speaker's bass quality:

**•** **Driver size:** Picking large woofers or subwoofers is the best possible way to achieve fantastic bass. We've included as much information as we can about the size of the drivers in our speaker roundup, but having speakers that are 2-4 inches is a great way of achieving impressive sound. But the larger, the better.

**•** **Audio output power:** The audio output power indicates the power that a speaker can emit while in use, the higher the wattage, the louder the speaker. Choosing the highest audio output power is almost always going to give you good bass.

**•** **Passive radiators:** Having a speaker radiator enhances the audio output power of your speaker by increasing air pressure. Passive radiators improve the amount of bass even small speakers can have, so if they're listed, it's a good sign.

**•** **User review:** If you're unconvinced of a webpage's advertising, then look at what users are saying: many of our picks have hundreds of reviews, so there's plenty to look through showcasing exactly how good these speakers are.

### How much should I spend on a speaker?

This question is entirely dependent on how much of an audiophile you are, as well as how deep your pockets are. Speakers can range from under £50 to several hundred, even thousand pounds. We've selected high-quality options starting around £40 and up to £500. However, expect to pay a premium for cutting-edge sound and deep bass.

If you're wondering :a[how we test]{href='https://www.whatsthebest.co.uk/how-we-test/' } Bluetooth speakers, we start by first using them daily as our primary sound systems, testing them with a variety of music genres. To test battery life, we will fully charge them and use the speaker moderately as a strong gauge for actual battery performance.

If possible, we'll compare the speaker to other speakers we have, which helps to create a better picture of a speaker's potential. When using it throughout our everyday lives for at least a couple weeks, accidents are bound to happen. If they do, we'll talk about how well the speakers handled a drop, or a splash of water.
