Studio monitors, by design, are built to give you the truest sound possible, so for those who aren't used to that true sound, you might be disappointed, but for a DJ - it's perfect.

The PreSonus E3.5 is an excellent studio monitor for any budget, and it shouldn't be slept on - you'll be hard-pressed to find a better deal.

While monitor speakers certainly are essential for editing and experimenting with your sound - you'll need something with a little more heft for a true club. Enter, JBL's IRX108BT - one of the greatest PA speakers we've had the pleasure of coming across.

This compact, yet devastatingly loud active speaker erupts with enormous sound at 1300 watts of power and a frequency response of 54Hz to 20kHz. Needless to say, sound on the IRX108BT is very, very loud, especially for its price, but loudness alone isn't enough to recommend this speaker.

As for the quality of its sound - JBL's IRX108BT is masterfully designed and manufactured, overflowing with depth and intricacy that'll have your crowd on cloud nine and beyond.

Far from a budget Bluetooth speaker, yet affordable in comparison to other PA systems on the market, the IRX108BT is the perfect foot-in-the-door speaker for budding DJs desperate to break out into the night scene - and with the right speaker setup, it's certainly possible.

For the aspiring DJ on a tight budget who still wants to cause heads to bang and feet to move - the Alto Professional TX308 is simply sublime at its price.

This sizeable active PA system is equipped with a titanic 8-inch subwoofer and a 2-way 350 Watt power amplifier to boot, so as far as bass is concerned - you've got plenty of it.

Built to last the to's and fro's of transport, and night after night of use - the Alto Professional TX308 is nothing if not durable. As for its sound, much like the TX308's build quality, it's very robust.

The low, hair-raising rumble of a great party speaker is a wonderful thing, and this PA speaker certainly has some give. Highs and mid-tones - are nice, but not perfect on occasion, with some loss of clarity at higher volumes, which isn't likely to bother most of your listeners in a loud, rowdy room - but it's certainly something to consider if you're planning on working some larger events that'll require a

Delivering excellent quality for decades, KRK is one of the greatest speaker brands out there. Popular amongst audiophiles, music producers and DJs around the world, KRK is known for huge performance, pristine clarity and plenty of value, and the Rokit 7 G4 certainly doesn't disappoint.

Loaded with 25 EQ presets for the perfect sound, an incredible 42-Hz - 40,000kHz frequency response range and a whopping 145 watts of output power - sound on the Rokit RP7 is simply wonderful. With true precision, with some optionality to tweak sound for an ideal amount of punch, there's just a great amount of freedom with the Rokit RP7 G4 that you aren't going to get with standard speakers.

As it's only a single monitor speaker, however, you don't get the same soundstage feel that you might get with two channels, but nothing can stop you from buying two units, which pretty much gives you a faultless setup still at an affordable price, compared to the Rockit RP7 G4's competition.

You'll find that with the KRK RP7 G4's great sound, you could quite easily use it with a whole range of technology, making it a fantastic PC speaker too, for example.

Yet another excellent JBL speaker - the 1 Series 104 is phenomenal for DJs on the go, looking to work freely without lugging behemoth monitors from place to place.

Simple, well-made, and high quality - JBL's 1 Series 104 offers some incredibly nice sound for its price, valuing clarity above all other specifications.

To use, either plug directly into your DJ deck or connect via Bluetooth and begin mixing in moments. Sadly, the compact size of the Series 104 holds back the sheer volume of the monitor itself, so you're not quite getting the versatility of other monitors on the list here, but if you're in need of something a little cheaper and quieter - with some seriously beautiful sound, there's no doubt you'll adore these great monitors.
