Best Nokia phone

Nokia XR21 5G 6.49” Smartphone
Price: $680.88

For top performance, top durability and the best Nokia smartphone on the market right now, the Nokia XR21 smartphone is a seriously excellent choice for anyone looking for a great midrange phone.

Nokia's XR21 is more than made to last thanks to its military-grade durability, giving it plenty of protection against life's mishaps and accidents. There's a reason it featured top of our tough phone roundup.

But durability isn't all that the XR21 has going for it, there's also its fantastic battery life, lasting roughly 48 hours with moderate use - so you'll have plenty of power in a pinch for scrolling through Twitter, chewing through Candy Crush levels and some battery left over for plenty of photography too.

Nokia's XR21 smartphone, outclassing even the likes of some flagship phones, has an oh-so-satisfying 120Hz refresh rate, giving casual browsing a silky-smooth responsiveness unseen in most phones - gaming on the XR21 is certainly satisfying.

As for photography, there's certainly some room for improvement with Nokia's XR21, which we've outlined in our full-blown Nokia XR21 review. Pictures often appear too sharp (likely thanks to the XR21's AI processing), giving photography an artificially high-resolution look on occasion, but there's certainly plenty to admire with its vivid detail and strong colours in such an affordable phone.

The Nokia XR21 is a breath of fresh air for midrange phone shoppers, offering so much excellent hardware at such a great price, it's hard to believe - but believe it, this hardy phone is the best Nokia phone of the year and one of our favourite phones of the year.

  • Smooth 120Hz screen
  • Fantastic battery life

Best budget Nokia phone

Nokia phones are all about great value, durability and smooth user experiences, and the Nokia X10 is no exception. This nifty budget phone has plenty to offer users for its low price.

With a solid camera, an impressive 36-hour battery life (with moderate use), and a bright full-HD screen for great-looking video playback, it's a truly special phone deal that puts plenty of budget phones to shame.

This particularly large 6.7-inch phone boasts a gorgeous full-HD screen which looks wonderfully bright and vibrant for its price, even though it's only running at a 60Hz refresh rate.

Yes, as a phone under £200 - there are some performance issues, especially around particularly demanding games such as Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, which the X10 might struggle with, but that being said - you'll find plenty of gaming potential with less demanding games, as well as social media scrolling.

Pros

  • Excellent value smartphone
  • Solid design
  • Reliable battery

Cons

  • Slowness while multitasking

Best budget Nokia phone for camera

Nokia G60 5G Smartphone
Price: $385.00

Nokia's G60 smartphone is yet another impressive budget phone from Nokia, with some of the greatest hardware for a phone under £200 we've come across.

Let's start with the screen - it's an FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, giving you a better hand feel than most high-end phones on the market. 120Hz gaming is something of a joy to experience, and while the G60 can't handle demanding MOBAs too well, it'll definitely carry you through a huge majority of games in its stride.

The G60 has a particularly solid triple camera with AI upscaling, giving photographers something to rejoice over for less than £200. For the price, the Nokia G60 is utterly phenomenal - there's no denying it, don't hesitate to grab this excellent Android phone should you be in search of a great deal.

Pros

  • Great value phone
  • Solid triple camera
  • Ultra-smooth 120Hz screen

Cons

  • Low RAM

Best Nokia phone screen

Nokia's X30 boasts great performance, a solid AI-enhanced camera, and a great battery life - but it's the phone screen that's captured our attention.

Equipped with an FHD+ AMOLED screen to rival phones triple its price, the Nokia X30 has a display that's truly beautiful, it must be said. Browsing is a breeze on the Nokia X30 thanks to its 90Hz refresh rate screen and 6GB of RAM to top it off, giving Nokia fans plenty of power to enjoy.

That being said, as a phone under £300 - the Nokia X30 isn't equipped with the finest processor in the world - and when multitasking between a game of PUBG: Mobile, Twitter, and a photo shoot - you might find yourself waiting for it to catch up.

Pros

  • Gorgeous FHD+ screen
  • Solid design
  • Great battery life

Cons

  • Sluggish performance

Best affordable Nokia phone

Nokia G21 smartphoneNokia
Price: $159.99

For those in need of a fairly basic but reliable smartphone for a fraction of the price of even budget smartphones, the Nokia G21 is a sturdy phone that'll last you through thick and thin.

With a battery life of roughly three days - you'll never not have access to your messenger or your library of games when you need them most.

Tough, reliable and cheap - this is the perfect phone for those who don't need a shiny camera, nor the needless frills of a high-end phone, it's a humble but incredibly reliable phone as we discovered in our Nokia G21 review.

Pros

  • Solid ultra-affordable phone
  • Very good battery life
  • Incredibly durable

Cons

  • Weak camera

Best Nokia flip phone

Nokia 2660 FlipArgos/Nokia

For a much simpler option, you could back a bit on tech with this Nokia 2660 Flip. That's right, this is a modern flip phone with actual buttons. It's very easy to understand and use, and since it's not as powerful as a smartphone, it's also more affordable. Don't fret over the performance either; this still sounds as good as any other Nokia phone.

The main letdown is the camera quality, but if you don't mind a grainy picture, then it shouldn't be a dealbreaker.

Pros

  • Amazing value for money
  • Brilliant battery life
  • Impressive audio quality for the price

Cons

  • Camera quality is unimpressive

What's the best Nokia phone?

There are plenty of reasons to grab yourself a Nokia phone this year - they're cheap, they're tough and they're reliable, but which smartphone should you pick?

For our money, the Nokia XR21 is far and beyond the best smartphone of the bunch - it has military-grade durability, an excellent camera, mindblowing specs, and more - it's absolutely worth its price.

Why are Nokia phones so strong?

Nokia phones have been known to be strong since the release of the 3310 over twenty years ago, and they've been tough since then.

The secret to the Nokia phone's strength is quite simple - it's quality manufacturing, using the finest materials and expert engineering to produce a phone that can endure extreme heat, cold and being submerged in water for over an hour - it's just that good.

Nokia vs Samsung - what's the best?

Nokia phones have great battery life, solid designs and some decent photography, but how do they compare to the ultimate Android phones - the Samsungs?

Samsung phones are perhaps the best Android phones on the market, with great performance, great cameras, and gorgeous designs to dazzle any tech-head, but their greatest downside is pretty obvious - they're pricey.

Nokia offer similar performance at a much lower price than its Samsung counterparts, which is why so many people are switching back to the beloved Nokia brand.
