FAQs

When is the Black Friday Sale?

The Black Friday sale officially began on Friday 24th November and is now over. But it'll be back in November 2024 -so check What's The Best closer to the time for the expert low-down on the best deals.

Are Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals worth it?

Absolutely. If you've been on the lookout for a game or two but need to make some serious savings, there's no good reason not to throw some of these into your shopping basket. After all, great Black Friday Nintendo Switch game deals don't come around for long.

Are Nintendo Switch games compatible with Switch Lite?

Yes. All of them - including any Black Friday Nintendo Switch game you might buy - are fully compatible with the Switch Lite. However, it's worth remembering that if a game has features that make use of non-Lite Switch functions (such as HD Rumble, IR Motion Camera and Joy-Con motion sensors) these features, of course, won't work on the Switch Lite. The game will run - just without those elements.

Which Nintendo Switch games are VR compatible?

If you're not familiar with the idea of playing a Switch via a VR headset - yes it really does work, with many games specifically designed to support a VR mode. That includes top titles like Zelda, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bos and more. One of the best headsets for this is the Orzly VR Headset - highly rated by IGN, Wired and more.

But, back to the games. At the time of writing, the list is short but rapidly growing as people realise how brilliant the experience is. The best way to find them is to search Amazon for Switch VR games. The key here is to read the description and make sure that the game supports Labo VR (Nintendo's project to allow people to build Switch-based interactive toys from, basically, a cardboard crafting kit).

What kind of TV is best for the Nintendo Switch?

Although the main appeal of the Nintendo Switch is in the small but high-def screen, if you are equally excited about having Mario: Wonder or Zelda on a nice big screen by docking the console, invest in a new TV for gaming. With the settings and features to maximise your enjoyment for smooth and detailed gameplay, not to mention low latency and high refresh rates, you'll definitely thank us later.
