Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest kickoff has certainly, well, kicked things off.

It began with Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and it ended with the mighty Elden Ring, featured over 30 additional games, live music and a few celebrity guests. We had reps from Overwatch and Call Of Duty discussing the new online seasons, the reveal of entirely new development and publishing companies and a brief lecture on dictatorships Giancarlo Esposito.

The announcements came thick and fast, barely giving audiences a chance to react before throwing them into the next game - so, to help you cut through and see that games at your own pace, we’ve collected together our top ten favourites.

Read on to see our picks for the event, and be sure to check back as we keep you updated on all the happening over E3 2021.

The grimdark collaboration between developer FromSoftware and Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin has finally seen the light. Not only that but a release date has been confirmed: Elden Ring is arriving on January 21, 2022. Read more here.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Planet Of Lana

Planet of Lana: An Off-Earth Odyssey is a game from a new Swedish developer called Wishfully. The graphical style is the first thing that draws attention - the game is entirely hand-painted. Arriving on Xbox and PC in 2022. Read more here.

Two Point Campus

We're not going to lie to you, as it was previously leaked ahead of its official announcement, Two Point Campus may not have been as surprising as some of the other games announced in the kick-off event. Nonetheless, the trailer for this game certainly did not disappoint. Arriving 2022. Read more here.

Metal Slug Tactics

The old-school shooter is making a return, but this time it’s on a grid. That’s right, Metal Slug has had a tactical overhaul and you know what, it looks great.

Among Us

Everyone’s lockdown saviour is getting some new modes, new roles and new outfits. It’ll be nice to have some new ways to hate our friends when InnerSloth drop this update. Want to celebrate? Pick up some of the best merch here.

Salt and Sacrifice

Salt and Sacrifice is a side-scrolling Souls-like from PlayStation’s indie division. It’s a sequel to Salt and Sanctuary and looks like it might even surpass the original. Coming to PS4 and PS5 in 2022.

Stranger Things x Smite

Free-to-play MOBA Smite is getting a taste of the Upside-Down, as it crosses paths with Netflix’s Stranger Things. New heroes and new baddies aplenty. Arriving July 2021.

Evil Dead: The Game

The gameplay trailer of Evil Dead: The Game wasn’t all that flashy - it reminds us a little too much of Friday The 13th: The Game - but this was a highlight because of how much Bruce Campbell said ‘d*ck’, pure and simple. Coming to all consoles and PC.
