Skullcandy and Tile have announced a new range of innovative true wireless headphones. The range, which is made up of four products, combines Skullcandy’s audio knowhow and Tile’s comprehensive item-finding platform to allay customers’ concerns about misplacing their headphones and earbuds.
With access to Tile’s item-locating app, users will now be able to find their earbuds with a simple press of a button, whether they’re near or far, on or off, individually or together.
Tile is integrated into four new Skullcandy products, the Push Ultra, Indy Evo, Indy Fuel, and Sesh Evo. Also, each product boasts built-in controls, wireless charging case, comprehensive sweat protection, and at least 30-hours of battery. Prices range from £59.99 to £119.99.

Why is this innovation so exciting?
The hands-free comfort and convenience of true wireless earbuds, like the Apple Air Pod, Sony WF-1000XM3 or Bose SoundSport, are a huge part of the device appeal. However, they are also a cause for concern as they can easily be misplaced or lost. These fears are not unfounded, as Skullcandy and Tile state in their press release, over 1,200 earbuds were lost on New York City’s transportation over a four month period.
While basic ‘find me’ style functions, such as playing a sound or displaying the last-paired location, are commonplace across the current marketplace, they’re limited in their usefulness. ‘Play sound’ features often require the earphones to be in range and switched on, for example.
Skullcandy’s integration of Tile is set to be a true improvement over its competition. This is because Tile’s item-finding platform is robust and vast, effectively having unlimited range and functioning whether a device is powered on or not.
Each earbud has the location tech installed, so they can be located individually or while placed together in the charging case.

What is Tile?
Tile describes itself as a “cloud-based finding platform” that provides Bluetooth-enabled devices that can be used to locate items from an app. A user can ring their Tile device to have it sound an alert, view its last known location, or reach out to the wider Tile community with a simple tap the app. The ‘Community Find’ feature is the standout tool in Tile’s arsenal, making it so that when “someone with the Tile app running comes into the range of a Tile, that Tile’s location is automatically and anonymously updated.”
Tile reports on its site that the network of anonymous app-users locate six-million items across 195 countries, which equates to a success rate of 90%.
