Fans of stress-busting life simulation games rejoice, Paralives is shaping up to be a genuine alternative to The Sims 4.

A new trailer has been showcased during the Wholesome Direct live stream which shows the near-endless customisation options the game's build mode will offer.

While the video for Wholesome Direct was rather short, an 11-minute video has been released showcasing how building and decorating will work in the game. Expect to be able to pinch and extend pieces of furniture to fit any size you'd like as well as a far more flexible wall-building structure compared to what is available in The Sims 4.

There is also the ability to create your own furniture swatches, a feature that's annoyingly missing from The Sims 4.

Wanting a life-sim fix while you wait for Paralives to launch? The Sims 4 and Animal Crossing New Horizons are great options.

What is Wholesome Direct?

Wholesome Games is an organisation that works to bring attention to indie developers and their games. Wholesome Direct is a show designed to highlight a wide selection of these games in one place.

The criteria? That a game is in some form cute, cosy, funny, kind and, well, wholesome. Often, as is often the case with indies, the games also have a unique, playful and experimental quality.

According to the hosts, Wholesome Direct 2021 features over 70 games. Watch the stream below:
