Everything you need to know about the 2021 John Lewis advert, including where to buy the merch

This is not a drill, Christmas has officially begun as John Lewis & Partners has just dropped its highly anticipated advert. Get your tissues at the ready as we know this one is going to hit hard, especially with Christmas 2021 set to be the best in a long time.

This year’s ad tells the magical tale of 14-year-old Nathan, who meets an unexpected guest, space traveller, Skye, after she lands in the woods near his home.

Nathan begins to introduce her to some wonderful Christmas traditions, such as decorating the tree, eating mince pies and watching movies. As their friendship develops, we see the magic of Christmas through the eyes of someone experiencing it for the very first time.

After Christmas 2020 left many of us disappointed, we're no doubt all looking forward to celebrating those little festive traditions, surrounded by our loved ones.

Claire Pointon, Customer Director, said, "There is nothing more magical than discovering the joy of Christmas for the first time and enjoying your favourite festive moments with loved ones. After the last 18 months, we wanted our advert to really celebrate this as we look forward to a brighter future. We know our customers are excited for this festive season more than ever, as they reconnect with family and friends. Through the story of Skye and Nathan we celebrate friendship and are reminded of the joy of experiencing Christmas for the first time."

A version of Nathan’s Christmas jumper that he gifts to Skye will be available in-store and online, and John Lewis will be donating 10% of the profits for each jumper sold equally to FareShare and Home-Start UK.

All the products featured in the advert are from John Lewis, so customers will be able to shop key scenes and make purchases directly from them.

Naturally, everything is flying off the shelves, but you can still get your hands on some of your favourite bits. We particularly love the baubles...
