Hocus Pocus isn’t your run-of-the-mill tale about witches – in fact, it’s a trio of sorceresses who absorb children’s youth. It’s the cult classic, which has simply scared little kids and teens into not breaking into haunted houses as they may (accidentally) resurrect witches. YIKES!

How to have a plastic-free Halloween🎃

Since its release in 1993, it has inspired generations of costumes, whether it’s simply throwing on a tie-dye tee to mimic Max Dennison’s chilled out vibe or dressing up your child as his cute (but let’s face it pretty annoying) little sister, who rocks an orange witches’ outfit.

If you’re a big fan of the evil Sanderson sisters, wouldn’t it be fun to dress up as them for Halloween? There's no better time than the present... We’ve been trawling the internet to find the best Hocus Pocus inspired costumes so you can be your favourite witch this year. I promise you there are no tricks here.

Silly Salem Sister Witch Costume (aka Sarah Sanderson)

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble – look like Sarah Jessica Parker on the double! This fun outfit consists of a peasant-style dress with an elastic waistband and light boning support on the bodice. In short, it's super flattering. There's also a blonde wig to help you look the part. Its long sleeves and full-length skirt are great if you don't want to flash the flesh too.

Want to nod to the theme without going full dress-up? This fun t-shirt is inspired by two of our favourite franchises: Hocus Pocus and Mean Girls. Dress this up a bit with a hat, broom or cloak over the top, or just go casual in a pair of black trousers – being a witch is all about the attitude. The best thing about an outfit like this is you can guarantee repeated wear from it.

Adult Long Cape Dark Green

One of our favourite things about a Hocus Pocus Halloween costume is that it's a rare example of a warm outfit – after all, it is at the end of October! Keep cosy with this elegant, light, velvet cloak. Plus, you get to do the 'big reveal' of your witch outfit, when you dramatically de-cape.

Goofy Salem Sister Witch Costume (aka Mary Sanderson)

If your favourite Sanderson sister is Mary, look no further! Even this costume has such a brilliant sense of humour to it, from the inelegantly hemmed dress, to the patch-worked pocket - but it's the distinctive wonky hat that really gives her character away.

Why should adults steal all of the Halloween fun? This snazzy little green outfit is the perfect way for your mini-witch to embody some of Bette Midler's sassy nature! The outfit comes with a fun witch-printed skirt, in-built belt and adorable puffed sleeves, as well as the all-important pointed hat. Add stripy green tights or black lace leggings, with dark shoes or boots for the full effect.

If you're a bad witch, Winnie is your spirit animal. The undisputed boss of her two sisters, Winnie (played by Bette Midler) is certainly in charge – and that orange wig will ensure you are too.
